Eclipse 1994
Photographic montage of the May 10, 1994 annular solar eclipse. From L to R, they were taken at 11:50 a.m., 11:55, 11:57, 12 p.m., 12:03, and 12:05 p.m. CDT from Lake of the Woods County Park near Mahomet, Illinois. All photos were taken with a Nikon FM2 camera fitted with a Tamron 300 mm f/5.6 lens, 2x teleconverter (e.f.l. = 600 mm), and Thousand Oaks solar filter. Eclipse '91 Diamond Ring
Photographs taken during the July 11, 1991 total solar eclipse in La Paz in Baja California Sur, Mexico. All photos were taken with a Nikon FM2 camera fitted with a Tamron 300 mm f/5.6 lens, 2x teleconverter (e.f.l. = 600 mm). Left photograph was taken during totality. Lunar Eclipse montage
Photographic montage of the October 27, 2004 Total Lunar Eclipse. Observations were made from Triton College's Cernan Earth and Space Center in River Grove, Illinois. All times given are p.m. Central Standard Time. Video was taken with a Sony Hi8 camcorder fitted with a 2X teleconverter. Stills were then captured with an Instant DVD+DV unit and edited with VideoStudio 7.0 software. Five frames per image were aligned and stacked by RegiStax 2 software to create the finished images.

The moon rose totally eclipsed on Saturday, March 3, 2007, and clouds further shortened the window of viewing opportunity. Totality had already ended before any trace of the moon became visible. These images were taken at approximately 6:44, 6:50 and 6:57 p.m. CST, respectively. Observations were made from my home in Bloomingdale, Illinois. Video was taken with a Sony Hi8 camcorder fitted with a 2X teleconverter. Video clips were captured with an Instant DVD+DV unit and VideoStudio 10 software. Frames were aligned and stacked by RegiStax 4 software to create the finished images.  © 2007 Bart Benjamin
