Photographic montage of the June 8, 2004 Venus Transit.  Observations were made from the Forest Park Beach in Lake Forest, Illinois.  Video was obtained with
an AVA PlanetCam attached to a Questar 3.5” telescope (with full aperture Questar solar filter) and recorded on a Sony Hi
8 camcorder. Stills were then captured
with an Instant DVD+DV unit and edited with VideoStudio 7.0 software. Between 6 and 12 frames per image were aligned and stacked by RegiStax 2 software to
create the finished images.

The sun, with Venus visible to the naked
eye on its face, rises over Lake Michigan.

Bart observes the Venus Transit with (from l. to r.) a Coronado SolarMax 40 solar
telescope, a Questar 3.5" telescope with PlanetCam, and a Sony Hi8 camcorder.
