This webpage contains the digital (and full color!) version of The Guidon newsletter, which can be downloaded and viewed on any computer, PC-based or Mac.


The Guidon is received by all members in good standing of the General Philip H. Sheridan Camp #2 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW). The Sheridan Camp #2 serves the western suburbs of Chicago and other parts of northern Illinois. Annual camp dues are $36. The Guidon is published quarterly by Bob Kurek (Editor) and Bart Benjamin (Assistant Editor and Publisher).

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) is a patriotic and educational organization that is the legal heir to and representative of the Grand Army of the Republic, the fraternal organization composed of veterans of the Union Army who served in the American Civil War. The SUVCW was founded on November 12, 1881 and was incorporated by Act of Congress on August 20, 1954. Hereditary and non-hereditary memberships are available to qualifying individuals.
